Tank Capacitor

1.5KVAC 2000Kvar 1Khz The tank capacitor designed for inductive heating and melting plants for power factor improvement. Our industrial tank capacitor series are tailor-made and manufactured ranged up to 8000VAC, 300Khz upon request. We design capacitor solution for induction furnaces and make sure to maximize induction heating power efficiency so that to save energy during the induction furnace operation.

General Feature of tank capacitors:

  1. ⭐️  Dielectric: All-film technology
  2. ⭐️  Electrode: Aluminum foil
  3. ⭐️  Filling: Non-PCB insulation Oil
  4. ⭐️  Tabs: upon request
  5. ⭐️  Voltage Range: Max 8000VAC
  6. ⭐️  Frequency range: Max 300kHz
  7. ⭐️  Rated current: up up 4000A
  8. ⭐️  Advantages: low inductance, high voltage terminations, and ultra-high rms current capability, with or without water cooling. Dead case or Live case for options.

FAQ

Q1: What is Tank capacitor?

The tank capacitor deployed in tank circuit with a induction coil. The tank capacitor and induction coil will resonate at a specific frequency. The frequency will depend on the electrical size of the tank capacitor and induction coil.

Q2: How do induction heating capacitors improve the power factor?

An induction coil represents a highly inductive load with an extremely low natural power factor (cos approx 0.05 ~ 0.20 ). Induction capacitors supply the necessary lagging reactive power (kVAR) directly at the furnace tank. By continually storing and discharging energy in synchronization with the inverter's switching frequency, they offset the inductive reactance, bringing the system's displacement power factor close to 0.95–0.98 and significantly reducing line losses.

Q3: What are the environmental conditions of tank capacitors?

Altitude: Max 1000m
Ambient: -40~45℃;
There should be no severe mechanical vibration, no harmful gases or vapors, and no conductive or explosive dust.

Q4: How to maintain your induction furnace capacitor?

  • Monitor Water Cooling: Regularly check the water inlet pressure, temperature, and flow rate. Ensure the cooling water is deionized/distilled to prevent mineral scaling inside the copper tubes.
  • Electrical Inspection: Periodically torque the connection busbars to prevent localized overheating from high RF currents. Check for case bulging or oil leaks.
  • Dielectric Testing: Regularly measure capacitance values and insulation resistance to detect early dielectric degradation before catastrophic failure occurs.

Q5: How to assure quality?

Strictly comply to IEC60110-1 standard, Test report will be issued for each products.

Q6: What is the lead time?

4 weeks
